Hello Paint Time Fans!
Today I thought I would catch yinz up with what I have been painting these past few months. I have been recording some here and there, but I have not made any videos, since I was working. I do have some free time at the moment. Maybe I will be able to throw something together,
I had to play Hearthstone for a week just to get my fun level back up to the point I want to do anything. Side note- I did put the Shopify store on hold. I am able to open it again if anyone needs printing on items... but I did not like the Shopify platform, although I did have lots of fun playing around on it.
The cover picture is a painting I did right before Christmas as a gift to my sister. She has many of my paintings, and she picked the Christmas tree last year. I followed another artist I saw on an Instagram reel. I'm sorry, I don't remember the artist. But she mixed Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, and Orange to get that really darkened blue for the sky.
Then she made the background trees, by painting a triangle of color and adding the branches. Acrylic paints dry so fast that I was unable to recreate the same color for the background trees when I went in to fix my mistakes, but then each tree has it's own color, and that looks cool to me.
This one is my attempt at the Starry Sky. Not as easy as it looks. At one point I didn't know what to do since the top and the bottom of the paintings seemed to be completely unrelated. I practiced my waves and there was a mountain that did not make the cut behind what I am saying are fireworks?
This painting went through so many reworks, I finally just tried my best to make it look cool and then called it. I do like the colors. The sky at one point was many different colors, so I tried to keep the orange, yellow, and pink, outlining every shape with the dark Phthalo Blue.
This waterfall painting is one of my favorites so far. I want to say that it is done, but the more I look at it, the more I want to touch up the clouds and the yellow flowers. I need a new detail brush, so I am doing my best with the thicker brushes.
I started out with a very yellow and orange sky, but once I added the waterfall, and the plants, I went back over the sky with a mixture of red, blue and magenta to match the colors I had added to the water. This was good practice making the flowers and the bushes.
I definitely put a lot of time into this one- and I love it!
