Tending the Music- The Quiet Nook

I am so cool. No, really like, I am so cool. I have so many awesome and wonderful people in my life. Every morning I wake up and emit excellence. Everything I touch turns gold. I go to faraway places and eat the most delicious food. Oh my gosh you should see the clothes in my closet! And the cars in my garage, and my horses, and my garden.
Oh, my garden! I must tell you about my garden. First, let me start by telling you about my house.
I live in my dream house. You would think that it would be a mansion; although, I do own a 9.2-million dollar mansion in California…
No, my dream home is on the East Coast of America. I own acres and acres of untamed forest. My house is remote but is fully functional. It was built back in the days of the original colonies. I enclosed one of the twenty-five-acre lots with a rot iron fence to keep out the wildlife, mostly the bears. My driveway is a half mile paved path lined with hardwoods and fragrant flowers.
You can see the horse pastures as you approach the gate house. I love my horses. I ride them daily. Every morning I walk out to the barn to give them some attention. My cats follow me out to the barn to nuzzle on them. They can’t wait to see each other.
The house itself is a beautiful Victorian with white trim. It’s so beautiful it takes your breath away. The house was given to me by an old teacher of mine. I didn’t remember them, but they wrote in their will that I had made a profound impact on their life. The house, the property, and a huge inheritance was handed to me on a Friday.
When I first laid eyes on a picture of the house, I fell in love. I quit my job, packed up my cats and have been living here ever since. I used that inheritance to make my first billion dollars, but that is a longer story that I wouldn’t want to bore you with.
I have lots of family and friends living here, and in and out of my other houses. I also own a yacht that is popular among my younger family members. I employ a dozen people in this house alone. I am happy to house them in smaller houses around the property, so they can maintain the property and the stables. I have been invited to be on the cover of Home and Gardens. I am so excited and honored to be asked.
When I arrived, there was a small garden, but most of the land was simply decorated. I could imagine there being a large family of settlers here centuries before, working hard to tame the land and the surrounding grounds. Once I fenced in the land I wanted to cultivate, I began mapping out my garden. I wanted it to flow together with paths.
I picked every plant and flower and took my time building the paths. I placed benches throughout the gardens to sit a watch the sun rise. I walk through the gardens in the mornings and can smell the fragrance of a thousand of roses. In the evening you can smell the blooming flowers from the huge porches, and even from my bedroom balcony.
Some nights I just stand out there and watch the world go by. I couldn’t be any happier. Next time I will tell you about my travels. Life is good my friend.
