It was a lovely Sunday here yesterday, with sunny skies and a chill in the air, so I decided to stroll around downtown. I live in a small town with a cute two street downtown that stretches about 8 blocks with some fun shops and such.
I parked on one end and made my first stop at the weed store for #munchiemonday, 20% off all edibles π I tossed those in the car and started off down the street. As I approached the first store I was going to go into, out comes my oldest daughter's boyfriend π She's back at their house in the college town they live in but he's still here with his family for the holiday, and boy was he surprised to see me. I told him I was just walking the town to enjoy the day and I'd walk with him π€£ You can imagine how excited he must have been (hint: not at all).
We have a really cool old bookstore in town and I had a feeling he was going to peel off and go in when we passed it, which he did, so I kept walking. I got to the end of downtown and ducked into the post office to check my po box. Inside was a key to a parcel locker, but I did not want to carry anything around so I left it in there and started walking back toward my car.
We do have one record store in town, it was at the end by my car. I parked on that end because I knew I was going to stop there and I intended to buy something, this way I would not have to carry a record around while I was walking.
I get to the store, open the door and walk in and guess who's there? Yep, daughter's boyfriend π€£
He's a musician and an audiophile, like me, so I was not surprised.
I'm really enjoying getting back into record collecting and listening to vinyl at home. Not only are there lots of reissues of records from the past (with extra songs and other goodies), but, new bands are also issuing their music on vinyl as well.
As I was browsing the stacks I came across one such reissue. It was The Jimi Hendrix Experience's Electric Ladyland double LP on 180 gram vinyl, remastered from the original studio tapes, and I knew this was likely the one I was leaving with.
I left that on the shelf for the moment while I browsed the rest of the stacks. Then I came across this...
A brand spankin' newly remastered double LP of the complete show used in the Stop Making Sense film. This also comes with a book (above picture) with liner notes from each of the band members reminiscing on the project!!!

I listened to it twice through as soon as I got home. This is a tour de force for Talking Heads and something I highly recommend, even if you stream it on your favorite music service.
Here is the whole package ;)
Well, it's almost 10am here so I'm going to post this and then crank it up for another listen :D

You could have bought another Rubiks cube silver if you'd quit wasting it on antique technology..
Edit. Talking Heads was the shit..
