Antalya is sooo hot. It has an extremely hot and suffocating atmosphere during the afternoon hours. We started our day very early because we had planned to visit Kaputas Beach today. It's one of the most popular beaches in Antalya and a must see place. As I mentioned in my previous post, the location of our house is excellent, so it will only take us 20 minutes to get to Kaputas Beach. The girls wanted to prepare breakfast in the morning, so my friend and I woke up and took a refreshing swim in the pool. During the morning hours, our garden and the pool area are exposed to the sun, so we made sure not to neglect applying sunscreen to avoid sunburns in the early days of our vacation. I especially apply sunscreen to my head because the sun can be really harsh.
After finishing our breakfast, we got ready and hit the road. We were in the car by 10 a.m., heading towards Kaputas. When driving here, you need to be careful as the roads are extremely winding. It's best to take it easy, enjoy the surroundings, and not rush. As we approached Kaputas, we noticed the increasing number of cars parked along the sides of the road. People park their cars on the roadside and are willing to take a long walk to reach this beach. When we caught a glimpse of the Kaputas sea from the edge of the road, we were truly mesmerized. The color of the sea seemed as if it had been painted by an artist. Despite arriving at around 10:30 a.m., the beach was already crowded, and finding a parking spot was quite challenging. With cars parked on both sides of the road, the lanes had narrowed, creating a slight traffic hazard. Thankfully, traffic police were doing their duty in the middle of the road, ensuring the safety of the traffic. After circling around a bit, we finally found a parking spot. Once we got out of the car, we realized we had to walk about 900 meters. After the 900 meters walk, we finally reached the top of the stairs that led down to Kaputas Beach.
Entry to the beach was free, but I can't recall the exact fee for using sun loungers and umbrellas, I believe it was around 100-200 TL. Even while descending the stairs, there was a flow of people, indicating that this beach is never empty or quiet. As we made our way down the stairs, the sound of laughter and excitement grew louder. The massive waves were pushing people towards the shore, and some were even jumping into the sea by leaping over the waves. It was evident that everyone was having a great time. Just before reaching the beach, there was a cafe area where you could sit in the shade, relax, and grab a bite to eat. We stopped by there to grab some water before going to sea side.
We found an empty spot on the sand next to the rocky area at the corner of the shore. After putting our stuffs there, we wasted no time and jumped into the sea. The water wasn't too cold, but I made a big mistake by opening my eyes underwater. The sea water is extremely salty, and I strongly advise against opening your eyes. However, as I have a skin condition, the salt in the sea water actually benefits me. It can be the best choice for skin problems such as oily skin eczema, rashes, itching, and more. The salt content in the sea water in Antalya is significantly higher compared to other places, and it seems to have a positive effect on such conditions.
There is a constant wave current that seems to never end at this beach. When entering the sea, you need to act quickly; otherwise, the waves can sweep you away, and if you can't withstand the force of the waves, the sea can pull you in. So, it's actually a place that requires caution. However, this thing is only applicable near the shore. Once you go past the coastline, you don't feel the waves as intense in the further areas. It's only when entering and exiting the sea that you may encounter some challenges. Thankfully, we didn't have any issues because we were careful during these stages. After enjoying some swimming and fun in the sea, we lounged on the shore, soaking in the sun and savoring the surroundings.
After spending our day at Kaputas Beach, our hunger kicked in, so we stopped by the cafe above the beach and grabbed a snack before heading back to home. We decided to continue our day by the pool at home because the beach was becoming even more crowded as time passed, and we had already enjoyed it enough.
Before getting into our car, we captured the breathtaking view of Kaputas Beach in a photograph, bringing our story to a close.
