“Something’s nae reit. 'Att dinghy was tethered oan th' main deck when we left 'er at anchur! Galligan, let’s git up-top an' tak' a swatch!”
“Aye Sairrr…”

As the three officers hustled down the main corridor of the ship, the tension seemed to build and Bleujay felt her heart race with every step!

The Captain, Commander Galligan and Standing Officer-Boatswain Bleujay raced up the stars to the bridge!

“Langscope!” The Captain said abruptly as Commander Kerrislravenhill handed it to him.
“Jist sooth-eest o’ La Serpent…” She said, pointing.

The Captain squeezed his bad eye shut and focused through the longscope…

”Way hay… an' up she rises...” He whispered, keeping the scope steady on its target, “Ahh dae believe we've got stow-a-ways oan uir French vessel!”
“Stow-a-ways?!” Kerrislravenhill said in surprise.

“Knaves an’ rascals! Whoreson, glass-gazin', finical rogues!”

“Pirates…” Galligan whispered to Bleujay who’s eyes now were wide as tea saucers.
“Pirates?!” She half whispered; half replied in a breathless tone.

“Aye…pirates!” The Captain affirmed as he slid the longscope shut and handed it to Kerrislravenhill, “Galligan, hav tois longboats prepaured, pistols an' swords an' prepaur tae gang aboard!”
“Aye Sairrr!”
“Errisl… pick eight guid men who ur weel-skilled fur a barnie!”
“Aye, aye Sairrr!”

With that, the officers cleared the bridge in a hurry as the Captain stood silent, his iron-clad gaze locked on the dark silhouette of the French Corvette to the south…

Down on the main deck, Able Seaman Lupega watched as a commotion began to form near the bridge…

“Sairrr, what’s happening?” He said as he turned towards Standing Officer-Gunner Pocketechange.

“Ahh’m nae sure mucker, but something's got th' upper brass riled!” He replied as he quickly made his way across the deck towards the Commanders.

Able Seaman Trayan tied off the running line for the mainsail and walked over to Lupega, “The crew is buzzing Lupega! What’s going on?!”
“I don’t know Tray…but I've got a feeling we’re going to find out quick enough- look, Commander Kerrislravenhill is calling out names!”
"Oh, that’s never good!"
