Hi,
To all of you who are staking pivx (POS) :
Ensure you have done the mandatory wallet upgrade (2.2.0). Latest wallet version as of today (13 May 2017) is 2.2.1.
Click on the send tab in the pivx wallet and click on inputs to verify how your pivx tokens are distributed (single vs multiple address).
If you have a single address, you can use the Split UTXO option to create multiple of 800 (or 900 or 1000) which is ideal to gain rewards rather than keeping 2000+ coins in one address.
If you have coins under different address, please move it around by intra wallet transfers which are instantaneous and very cheap (0.00001920piv) to ensure each address has atleast 800 pivx.
This ensures highest staking rewards.
Cheers n happy staking.
Just started staking pivx. How necessary is it to split the addresses. Do you know how much of an impact this will have?
Thanks
hi raincoin
i realized this recently by pure chance. Previously when i staked pivx (in April 2017), I had 2500+ coins in one address and was rewarded 6.6 pivx for every generated block.
This time around when I re-started staking (in May 2017), I had transferred pivx from exchanges using 4 different receiving addresses. Unknowingly I ended up having 1500+, 900+, 800+ and 600+ in each address and staked. To my surprise I received 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 pivx for the addresses having 800+ coins for the same duration of staking.
Following this I went back to pivx.org and there I found a post detailing the same thing. The author there has advised splitting it into 1000 coins per address.
This is from my personal experience.
Please try it out and let me know
Cheers.
Thanks. I have been able to stake twice since starting. Cool when it happens.
Yes, pretty cool 😊
Happy staking!!
I thought the chances went up with your stable. Why does splitting it matter?
Yes, the more staked coins you have , the bigger the rewards. But split them in multiples of 800 or 900 or 1000 (upto 10 per wallet) for maximum rewards. As detailed in the earlier reply this was a recent serendipity for me as well. But found a post in pivx forum detailing the same. Try it out and let me know please.
Cheers.
To date I have not seen anything that helps me to understand how to understand this "intra wallet transfer", which is "very cheap". I'm thinking that this term relates to moving stuff around inside the wallet or is it that it's cheap via the fact that you are just sending the stuff out and then back into the same PIVX wallet that gives it the term "Intra wallet transfer"?, which makes it cheaper than sending to the outside world?
If anyone is interested @Btcpopco has pooled staking for $PIVX (if your not tech savy like me).
Good post. Really appreciate you bring this to our attention. I strongly advice people to only buy in to cryptos that have a solid background: A solid team, product, advisors, preferably VC investors, etc. Sell all cryptos that don't have this solid background. It's a waiste of money. An interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com Every single coin can be analysed here based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model and much more. Go to: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/PIVX#analysis To watch PIVX Analysis.
