@kyriacos I don't know if I agree with you. I am not saying you are wrong but I am not sure...Let me explain:
When someone post a link from youtube, or an article on fb and people like it there is no copyright. This is fully legal. Everyone does it.
So the difference here is that people directly earn money from someone else's photo, video, article etc..And you are saying that these people may be liable in the future from the original owner. But why would they be? If the owner wants to earn some money from his article he can come here and post it himself. People that copy others people articles can always claim that they didn't do it for the money but their intention was just to inform others. They didn't know if they will get upvoted and if they did it is not their fault that someone gave them free money.. I am not a lawyer but I am not so certain that someone can sue me because I just put a link here of someone else's article. Everyone does that on fb and no one gets sued..
Having said that I think that people SHOULD continue to post interesting articles even if it is not their work. Let zerohedge, ft,economist or any other magazine and newspaper out there know about steemit and if the authors want to make some pocket money maybe they should consider write in steemit and in the blockchain as well..This maybe good for steemit and its shareholders after all..
Having said all that I definitely agree that when people post others work they SHOULD reference it and not only that but they should also let the owner know that they can make some pocket money if they post on steemit.
//But why would they be? If the owner wants to earn some money from his article he can come here and post it himself. //
this is silly. from this logic anyone can steal from anyone with the excuse of "well join here too if you don't want me to make money of your hard work". i mean. what kind of logic is this?
direct linking is diffrent. copy-pasta or just using the images as they are is theft.
it is not pocket money at all. we are all shareholders. its our company. SP is the stock. they can sue Steemit and close everything down even if one image leaks.
