5 Amazing Species Of The Carnivorous Plant World

The carnivorous plant world is just as amazing as it gets, I decided to introduce to you some amazing members of the carnivorous plants, with time, we will be learning more about these plants on my blog.

The Drosera

These species are called the sundews since they are covered with dews which attracts their prey, get them stuck and digest them with digestive enzymes produced.

Venus Flytrap

When the carnivorous world is called, the Venus flytrap fist come to mind. With their leafy jaw, they snap shut to prey when the insect touch two or more hairs and produce an External stomach for digestion.

Nepenthes

These are tropical pitcher plants containing pitchers which starts as a small bud with their self produced liquids. The lure prey with nectar, when lured they get entrapped and digested. These can even digest animals like rats.

Sarracenia

They are pitcher plants too native to the United States and Canada. Toward the end of the summer their colouration changes to reddish purple color to attract insects like flies. Once in, the face a pool of water are trapped.

Pinguiculas

They are commonly known as Butterworth and just like the sundews, they produce a sticky leaf nature to attract and capture prey. Their colouration are bright and it's flowers only last for a short period.
