I don't think so. More likely Tragopogon porrifolius - I might be completely wrong - but I know salsifys (which as a common name could be given to loads of different things the world over) are a much bigger version of the dandelion... usually grown for their root - which is a bit like horseradish/parsnip.

It might be a 'salsify' rather than a more typical dandelion. They're much bigger!
