Bug Eating Plants 🐝 Need Buzzers to Play in their Flowers

in #plants2 years ago

Carnivorous plants and their flowers.

A lot of you know about my obsession with these kinds of rare plants.

It is spring here and they are all in bloom already.

Sometimes I wonder if this plant wants to attract bugs for lunch or more for pollination.

These were taken yesterday. I had missed the first flower bloom but you can see the huge line of developing buds above, each will bloom in order and make many pods of seeds for growing these next year.

The two on the left have already bloomed, then we have the flower which is open for a few hours in the morning. Then the staggered buds that are all in a bunch which will each flower one per day.

There are many of these uncurling weekly and so we have flowers all summer long.

More photos taken today while the sun was out...

I went out to water the plants this morning. I saw these and I wanted to share their beauty.

Each flower is about the size of a quarter. They are small and delicate. Hard to focus on them with a camera. It always tries to get whatever is in the foreground.

The heat takes it out of these guys. Sometimes I wonder if I could get the flowers on a time laps or something.

That is all I have for you today. More green or pink things coming up in a few days.

Thanks for keeping up with my living fly traps!
