Visiting Funbox: The World's Biggest Bounce Park!

in #playlast year

A Happy Accident

For several months, I had been taking @little-ricky to a play area in a local mall, and I always parked in the same parking structure. On one particular day, there was construction happening in my usual spot, so I had to search for an alternative. I ended up circling the mall until I reached the other side, where I knew there was a large parking lot.

Overwhelmed @little-ricky

However, when I arrived, the parking lot was entirely occupied by the most enormous inflatable bouncy castles I had ever laid eyes on. At that moment, I realized it was too late to take Ricky to his usual play area inside the mall. He had already spotted these gigantic, brightly colored marvels and was pointing and cheering in amazement.

This kid can really move in here

It was evident at that moment what our next couple of hours would entail. Of course, I was roped in at this point and couldn't change my mind; even after seeing the entry price of $25! Fortunately, Ricky got in for free due to his age, but I had to shell out for myself. I couldn't help but wonder how many adults without small children ventured into this place.

Trying to lose me in the candy cane forest

Once we'd removed our shoes, we quickly leaped into the largest castle first. The selection of bouncy houses was quite extensive, with some extra small ones primarily occupied by the tiniest toddlers. However, my son had no interest in those.

Here I am, daddy!

Sadly for me, these were all open-air setups, subjecting my skin to the relentless sun beating down. Ricky, on the other hand, appeared completely unfazed, thanks to the towering inflated obstacles that offered him a bit of shade. By the time our visit came to an end, I was undoubtedly sporting a rather sun-kissed and sweaty complexion.

Forever on the move, not a moment's rest!

One of the most challenging aspects was ensuring I didn't lose sight of Ricky within the mazes. If he had slipped out of the bouncy house, there was a real risk of him darting away, making it incredibly difficult to locate him. Consequently, I found myself practically sprinting the entire time to ensure he remained within my sight.

What is a bouncy house for, if not for bouncing?

We must have spent around two hours in there, although it certainly felt closer to five. The heat has a way of making me unusually drowsy during prolonged exposure. Fortunately, my son was equally exhausted. All that running around left him more than ready for a nap.

As a matter of fact, the moment he settled into his car seat, he was out like a light. It was indeed a relief, a small miracle, to say the least!

Dang, that does seem like a bit of a steep price. I guess if you got two hours of fun out of it. Plus it sounds like it was quite expansive. They have been doing inflatables for the kids instead of field day for a couple of years now. It always goes over really well. It's amazing how much jumping on the bed has evolved!

The price is a bit silly.. When I went to pay, the kid taking my money said that if I use the app, the price is only $15. (I think $5 is more reasonable)

But when I installed the app there was no way to pay a lower ticket price. The next day I talked to them about it and they said they didn't know what I was talking about referring to a lower fee. sheesh...

Doesn't that just about figure! Sounds like the kid was just trying to handle you so he didn't have to listen to you complain about the price. 😃

Yeah, pretty much. lol

One of children's favorite things to do is to jump without thinking. So it's no surprise that this is one of Ricky's favorite places haha.

Clearly it is a universal child behavior.. He never stops jumping 😅

You're doing your Dad duties so well, I guess @little-ricky would be proud of his Dad, and fond of you as well.

I sure hope so. I have a fear that once he becomes a teenager he is gonna start doing the normal "I hate you dad!" speech. lol! Can you imagine?

I don't think so 😁 but even if that happens, it's a stage and he'll for sure get through it 😀

As a matter of fact, the moment he settled into his car seat, he was out like a light. It was indeed a relief, a small miracle, to say the least!

as a dad, this is the other goal that I want to get after taking my son out to play. to get him to sleep easier. hahah
that place bounce park looks nice.
voted for you witness, : )

Thanks for the vote @ekavieka! It is very much appreciated.

Yes, it is a great to take the kid out as much as possible. We are constantly trying to find new places for him to play as he gets bored very quickly doing the same thing. And it really helps tire him out so that mom and dad can get a break!

He is soo cute. Children love to go and play in such a place. He is so energetic. Children love to go to such places and have fun, it is no less than a paradise for them

He is definitely energetic. He is either 100%, or fast asleep. Not much in between!

Great 😍🥰

Laughs now that is certainly a happy accident! See the thing is most amazing moments in life barely costs a cent and is always the unplanned adventures!!

It's amazing to see how involved you actually are in your kiddos life... A rare thing nowadays!!

That is very true! But sadly this adventure cost me $25. haha! It was ok for a one-off but I don't think we'll be going there very often. He did have a really good time though.

Oh, well 25 dollars for a great bonding... Seems like nothing 😂💵👍

Have a great one bud!

Well, it's not too bad I suppose. But it gets a bit much when he wants to go every day! 😅

Amazing Dad, that's what you are. Keep being the best Dad for little Ricky.

Happy New Month by the way.

Well thank you! And a happy new month to you.

A few days ago we also went inside the same beautiful park, the children are very happy, so I will post the other side as well.

That looks like he had so much fun! I know what you went through, I did lots of trips with my son when he was about that age through similar setups. You have that constant dread of not losing sight of him because they just keep going if you fall behind.

I'm glad to see you're having so much fun with Ricky, I don't know how you keep up. I had a hard time doing it some twenty years ago and you can't be much younger than me!

Yeah, it is my biggest fear really. I have nearly lost him a few times in the mall when he runs off! It can be so stressful. I always get the feeling that someone has grabbed him.

I'm glad to see you're having so much fun with Ricky, I don't know how you keep up.

I don't know either.. It is hard work! I really need to get on the treadmill!

That's what always freaked me out too, thinking someone might grab your son... Chasing him around you may not need a treadmill! Keeping up with alone is a lot of exercise.

That's a fact....😉
