Pu Ta Leng - Peak Challenge

With the height of 3,049m, only behind Fansipan peak (3,143m), Pu Ta Leng in my hometown - Tam Duong district - Lai Chau province - Vietnam is also known as "the second roof of Indochina".

Located in Hoang Lien Son Range in Ta Leng Commune, Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province, Pu Ta Leng in H'Mong is called Ta Le Lung, with the word "Pú" meaning mountain. To conquer the mountain, you go to the commune of Ho Thau commune of Lai Chau, with the local guide in the village to start the journey. The first sections along the canal of the village, the road is quite easy to walk with the wild side of the road.

The first day of climbing was mainly along the upstream streams with high slopes with large rocks. But Pu Ta Leng is really the way. Beside the rocky slopes like to squeeze exhausted are small streams ragged day and night in the mountains, not only poetry, but also the ideal place for the climb or mountain goers.

The trails cross the bamboo forest.

The feeling of breaking into the peak of Pu Ta Leng, conquered the success of the "second home" of Indochina after a journey of energy. The Pu Ta Leng landmark is just a small piece of land that is cleared by the porters to get its place, surrounded by tall trees. Want to get a wide view of the scenery or take pictures, you have to climb up the azaleas.

The high mountains but high at this height are just like the oasis hiding in the middle of the ocean at an altitude of 3,049 m. The azaleas have not yet hatched, far away is the sea of clouds. Only one or two more months, when these rhododendron buds will light up the peak of Pu Ta Leng. The stratum of the white cloud layer between the blue of the sky and the green of the forest is like a creamy white sandwich sandwiched between a colorful cake

The stratum of white clouds between the blue of the sky and the green of the mountains resembles a creamy white sandwiched between a colorful cake.

The way back to the Ta Leng direction as compensating for the hardships of climbing the slope with beautiful scenery. Occasionally, there are small shacks of villagers going to grow cardamom in the forest. These sheds are both resting, eating of the villagers, just used as a drying oven after harvesting.

To go to Pu Ta Leng, the only way is to catch the car to Lai Chau in Hanoi at My Dinh bus station. There are many trips at 8pm daily, passenger car bed is 300,000 VND per person.

Terraces
Suggested hiking route: From Ho Thau commune, the first attempt to climb to 2,422 m to throw back unnecessary furniture and overnight stay. The next day to conquer the peak of 3,045m and return to stay the night at the old site 2,422m. The third day departs down the mountain towards Ta Leng (can also return to the way from Ho Thau) to Hanoi.
