The Pleiades in ancient Egypt were called the Seven Fates. They foretold the fate of each newborn child. In India they were the mothers of the hero Agni, ruled the period of Kali Yuga.
In Chinese astrology, the Pleiades had two aspects - war and criminal offenses. Untimely death. Therefore they were associated with misfortune.
