Good advice! I used to use a notebook when younger though eventually just started keeping notes on my phone and computer. Whichever method you use, even as someone who trains their memory I think leaving notes is extremely helpful because they you don't "have" to remember something, you can just sort of let it go and not expend the mental energy or effort to try to remember it. Whenever I have a good idea I try to record it somewhere as soon as possible, cause even though there's a good chance I'll remember it, sometimes I forget. And.. It sucks when you forget a good idea! Definitely want to keep as many of those around as you can and to study them further by looking at them more often kinda like you were talking about.
