Hey, how are you doing? This is Jimi again and welcome to the second episode of creating courses w/jimi.
I am trying hard to avoid telling you why it took me so long to record a second episode but I think I owe it to you, especially if I want a cordial relationship between us.
The truth is I have been wallowing myself creating contents for my new book on course creation. Yes o! And it’s been a tasking experience I must say.
I never forgot about you, I just felt I should not divide my attention when it comes to you. I am still very much busy but I miss you and I couldn’t wait to engage with you again.
So tell me how are you doing? What has been up with you? I am sure you are doing well and getting along with life well. Yea? hehehe
Anyways let’s move into the discussion of today.
For sometime now I have come to understand that a lot of us still don’t understand what it means to make money online.
Some believe it’s a kind of system where you just click something and money automatically enters into your bank account.
Well it’s definitely a system and money sure enters your bank account but it has nothing to do with it being automatic or what you may have clicked.
Think of it this way; {pause} You have a store in a physical location let’s say Lagos island and you sell cloths, you would need to drive in customers, right? so you showcase your clothing line in such a way that passerby will easily see it and hopefully visit your store. {pause}
You want more customers so you print handbills and share to attract more people to the clothing business. You are selling, business is moving but you need to reinvest into the business and scale up. You advertise your store on tv, radio and every possible channel you can find more customers.
The bottom line of this analogy is that you are running a business.
This is exactly what an online business is about. It is running a business proper. The difference is the change in platforms. I mean Instead of having a physical store in lagos island, you have an online store. Do you get me? Hehehe
Alright let’s do it this way. {pause}
I am going to share three proven steps to creating true wealth online.
These steps weren’t made up. It is basically the same process that has been used over time since before we were born.
Have a product.
What are you selling? What value are you offering? It could be anything as long as it is something in demand that solves a problem. So what solution to a problem are you providing?
Your product could be a service. Like interior designers, makeup artistes, plumber, fashion designer, barber or it could be that you are a consultant offering the service of consulting the portfolio of other business.
Your product could be physical. Like in the instance mentioned earlier where you sell cloths in Lagos Island, or you sell phone and laptop accessories. Anything physical you can think of.
Your product could be digital. Like ebooks, online courses, or software. Digital products are what I sell online. I particularly like this because of the peculiar nature of not holding inventory, tracking delivery or meeting targets like you would in a product based service and physical product.
All you just need is to create an online course or ebook and sell to thousands. My next show is on the importance of creating an online course. I will share what exactly is an online course, how you can use it to grow influence and change lives as well as how you can create wealth with it.
{pause}
Now that’s that about having a product. Remember a product could be service based, physical or digital. Whatever you feel comfortable with is definitely sellable online.
Now the question is what is your product?Start Building a List.
Now that you have a product the next thing is to sell right? Okay, so how do you sell especially when you are doing so online?
By selecting a product you should already have a target audience, people already looking to have your product. Look for them and gather them into a place where you can keep nurturing them until they literally beg you to collect their money in exchange for what you offer.
List building is usually done via an auto responder system or email marketing. Offer them a taste of what you are selling for free in exchange for their email address. Then and there you will start sending them subtle emails giving them more free solutions to their problems and then you offer them the product.
By the time you offer them the actual product they will feel secured enough to give you their money because they have already been getting value for free from you.
There are several autorepsonder tools you can make use of. Sendlane.com, aweber.com, sendy.co, mailchimp and so on.
Mailchimp is one email marketing tool I would recommend for beginners because it is free for the first 2000 subscribers and it has easy to use features that makes your list building less stressful.
Another list building tool is a chatbot. Companies like facebook have device a way you can collect the data from prospect via their messenger through a bot system. This is you or your company interacting with customers via facebook messenger.
Basically instead of emails, you have chats.
Manychat.com and chatfuel.com are among the various chatbot tools out there but I would recommend you stick with chatfuel because of its user friendly features and the fact that it is totally free for the first 5,000 subscribers. It was completely free before for the most important feature but every company want to make money so they put a price tag on it after 5000 subscribers. Go to chatfuel.com and check it out.Start Selling.
The whole process of building a list and eventually selling is through a funnel but I won’t talk about that now. The basics of selling online is these three, every other thing is just secondary. Understand these three simple facts and you are good to go with selling and making money online.
The easiest and fastest way to sell to via paid ads. Facebook has made it so cheap to advertise your product. With as little as $1 you can put your product in the face of your intended audience. Facebook is so cool that you can target audience with reference to their demographic, age, interest, and sex. So if you do your research well you are definitely sure to target the right audience in need of your product.
Content creation. Another way to sell yur your product is through content creation. Creating contents
