I'm a fan of the YouTube star John Green (and his brother Hank) and their work with Crash Course, which I love and have mentioned before. I was happy to see my friend Jeff Goins interview him on his podcast today, and I enjoyed the interview. They talk about writing, success, and also a bit about depression, which is a topic I really wish more people would discuss openly as the stigmas there need to be broken.
I enjoyed listening to it in the background today as I was working and wanted to share it here for my followers. If you want to learn more about writing, give Jeff a follow as well. I tried convincing him in the summer Steemit is something he should check out. Maybe if enough people find him via Steemit, he'll be more interested.

Do you ever listen to podcasts while working?
Most professional writers are staying away from Steemit. This site is developing a reputation for Fake News, ranting anarchists, Dollar Vigilante-style posts and an unfair voting/reward system.
I have been quite disappointed by all the fake news lately. More so with what is being pointed to as "evidence" which really just displays some poor epistemologies.
It's early on, so I'm still hopeful it will have a chance to become whatever people want to make it. Once more interfaces like https://busy.org/ show up for the blockchain, I think we'll see a lot of new content categories filled out, especially if the interfaces can be customized to prioritize content people want to see. Many might not even use or care about steemit while contributing content to the blockchain.
Time will tell.
Those expecting "fair" didn't read the white paper. But then again, few do.
Thanks for your comment.
