Shadows looming all around
My ears screaming to scary sounds
Cries that make the ears hurt
Blood dripping down their guts
I wanted to fear
All I see is tears
Of every mother
Of every father
Of every child
With eyes so wild
And all this pain eats me up
It all started in a drink from a cup
I knew danger was near
But they all never gave me their ears
I screamed to them
But they were blinded by gems
Of gold and joy
Of happiness
Of what fun they could toy
I saw all the laziness
Even as I knew danger was near
I couldn’t help the tears
That betrayed my eyes
I tried to cut all ties
Knowing they were doomed
As danger looms
And from the cup it all started
Taking the first departed
Followed by a monsters cry
That makes me want to pry
But I couldn’t help
As no bond was felt
They were all alone
With their time almost over
Pleading for a time lone
As I look up to Jehovah
I realized it was not my battle
As danger had them rattled
And I saw it all too soon
Way in the noon
Danger was always there
Baring its teeth like a bear
The joy of their hug ended in the cup
Even when kept
Danger never left
This poem relates to us that most of the time we find ourselves in trouble or danger, it is because of our negligence and taking things for granted. When we are safe we become complacent and forget that no matter what danger is always around, waiting for a tiny chance to strike and after striking it retreats for another chance to strike again. Always be at alert and prepared for every situation even when all seem safe, that way danger will never take you by surprise and would grow old waiting to strike you.
wonderfully rendered. Well done!!
