A @mattclake and @killerdragon24 battle log: POETIC-STYLE!!

in #poem2 months ago (edited)

@mattclarke @killerdragon24 @ctrpch and myself all enjoyed an in-person catch up at a pub to talk Splinterlands on Oct 2nd, 2024.
MattClarke created the monthly meet up for Adelaide-based Splinterlands players at least 4 years ago. (Adelaide, South Australia)
So only a few months ago, encouraged by Killerdragon24, in-person challenges on laptops at meetups BEGUN!
It was quite the treat seeing Matt and Counterpunch get a kick out of this for their first time battling at meet up.

Below is an inspired poem I wrote following the event... Hope you enjoy!

💻🍻🍻🍻💻

Twas the night of “Downtober” and four in a pub,
Were challenging splinters post nicely-priced grub.

The triple cheese pizza was shared by most all,
10 drinky-poos later and then, time to brawl!

A challenge was sent from one to another,
The first battle over and Clarke called to mother.

Then Ghost Cards came out - so OPTIONS galore;
A summoner-showcase, yet Matt hit the floor!

Two battles lost now to fellow guild-member,
Could MattClarke take victory before this November?!

A race to three wins… and Matt cuts a break,
He sinks a clear win with a mouthful of steak.

The 4th battle comes and here’s a surprise,
Matt wins, beer in hand, with eyes on the prize.

The final match looms and all take a gasp,
“Will the OG take KD to task?”

It’s fiery, it’s fierce, Clarke’s beer’s nearly done
The Killer looks close to having this won,

But Flesh-Golem-Hoarder was not done without
A best of 5 VIC’TRY to end with HIS SHOUT!

💻🍻🍻🍻💻

Not a bad night out... even if I did use a teensy bit of creative license here... 🙃😇🙂

Besides the 5 in-person battles for the evening (the last 4 using Ghost cards), topics were discussed ranging from the latest promo cards, past & potential world wars and why MattClarke will NEVER part with his collection of Alpha Flesh Golem cards.
Indeed, one need not potently engage the imagination as to how wars actually begin when they come face-to-face with FGF (Flesh Golem Fanatacism) - a condition that a certain member of the Roaring Twenties guild suffers from.
It’s quite possible that this disease has a contagion capacity and has spread to KillerDragon24, but in another form.
Pelcaor Bandits are all the rage in this player’s bag even though a fellow ‘Splinterhead’ said that Pelacor Bandits are not even selling*. :D
After all the sound is made, it will be interesting when looking back at the era of over-produced Chaos Legion packs as a time when card collectors took their chance at an opportunity.
If you wish to take the opportunity to meet up, just get in touch with any of us who were there and we can let you know the deets. :D

Until my next post, 😁

Battle on, battle long and fight with someone worthy!!
