Last Words of Albion (12 Haiku Poem)

in #poem8 years ago (edited)

Green forests and hills
Rolling across the landscape
Beautiful Albion.

Castles fill the land
Deadly plagues ravage people
Death consumes the land.

The lumber cut down
To build ships to cross the seas
Progress moves forward.

They’re off to explore
Building homes with wood and stone
People grow so fast

Fire burns in cities
Black smoke floating to heavens
Flames lick at the skies.

Metal tracks are laid
With steam rising through the air
London Underground.

Growing industry
Suffocating, smog-filled air
Getting hard to breathe.

Bombs over England
Then the cities grow taller
Nature is ignored.

Society grows
Pushing the boundaries of earth
Realising the harm.

Beautiful city
Making us crazy, today
Another escape

Pavement-covered ground
Polluted oceans and skies
Civilization?

Green forests and hills
Rolling across the landscape
Beautiful Albion.
