hey guys, still trying to get the hang of this steemit thing, so in the meantime, here's a poem I wrote ages ago. I'll try not to be so depressing in the future xoxo
She turned away, my love, my light,
And the whole world turned grey.
I closed my eyes, she was still in sight,
I couldn't breathe, I couldn't fight.
My precious girl, where did you go?
Without a trace, like fallen snow.
And still I couldn't see the day,
As all the world turned grey.
And as I tripped,and as I fell,
Blind with open eyes,
Still I thought of her, my dear,
As she faded from my sight.
And as she turned away from me,
The starlight in her eyes,
Grew dimmer as a dying flame,
As she walked into the night.
My precious girl, where did you go?
You were precious from the start.
You gave me life, you gave me hope,
Then stole away my heart.
Then finally you slipped away,
Dying on your bed,
Finally the world turned grey,
But all I saw was red.
I am so sorry, I wish you knew,
How much more I had to give,
You are my child, my precious one,
And I wished for you to live.
But to wish is such a dangerous thing,
It pulled me limb from limb.
You broke my heart, but it still sings,
Out to my only kin.
And as the world turned grey that day,
I never loved you More,
My heart still beats, although it's broke,
But the sadness is so raw
