Perversion’s pigeons descend on eagles of truth
in this generation’s twisted ways
and Time, in anger, draws its bow and shoots
at men of learning, day after day.
Fools have risen, as men of understanding
who teach wisdom are brought low,
while Hear, O Israel and Happy is the man
the age’s children do not know.
Scripture and legend they seek no more,
let alone the knowledge of things obscure.
