It came like the flogging
of a thousand lashes
and the infestation of a million
bees on my back - the lashes
of the rain
Yet the squealing call of a delicate
tulip fortified my bones
to outrun the cheetah.
My eyes became my brain
at the sight of her beauty and I,
without thought of a locale,
jacked the vase.
O that you were human,
I would not take a second's pause
before I ravage your purity
for your beauty is a semblance
of nature's creativity
