Teachings of The Heart

I tried to love the both of us, but it was put to a halt
You pointed out that everything was always my fault
The first to criticize made you seem like a fool
Lookin' back now, I was just your tool

Said your pages were open and we could discuss our dreams
When I gave my perceptions you unglued at the seams
Ya put me on a shelf, treated me like a toy
Gaining others' affections, I felt like part of a ploy

Poking holes in my statements to show I wasn't proper
Telling me what I really meant made me feel like a toddler
Rearranging my words to fit what you thought
Illogically absurd, leaving me distraught

If I could go back and change the first time we met
I would leave it all the same, learning through regret

We can't change the past, the best thing I can do is learn from it and hopefully never make the same mistake again.

Life is full of repeated mistakes, we all have a learning curve.

I can't find shame in admitting that there were things I stupidly committed twice. Sure they were unique situations, but they both had a similar underlying theme.

Yes, that part of life never goes away, I think.

But we always make mistakes , :-) in different ways ,
