A wise woman once said,
“There’s nothing I want but money and time.”
Because gosh,
what more would you want?
Isn’t that everything?
The two commodities that rule
our ever-depleting lives
on our oh-so-fragile earth?
But money and time, as precious, as lovely, as they be.
Are just byproducts of two even More lovely things.
And you can have all that you want,
and you can have it right now
-- but it’s the what to do with what got you once you got it that you’ve got to do
So you save your money,
Go hoard your time.
Because I want just two things,
They’re available now
Don’t cost no thing
Not ruled by time
And they exist within each of us
but they’re still bound by nothing at all
They come in spring and they come in fall,
You can find them east of Washington
just west of Nepal
I used to always think about money and time. I realized both are human constructs that only hold us accountable. I wonder if our brains needed to create these constructs to be more efficient or if it was natural in our evolution. Interesting poem thank you for sharing!
