A CONSENSUAL WORSHIP

If this body be
A temple of God,
Then I am a prophet
Let me make it my parish,
My chapel and sanctuary
Where I will worship
With my body and soul.
I will lay a path
Where no man has ever laid
Like Moses did with his rod
Parting a way
On the Red Sea.
There,
Our assembly shall emerge;
A testimony of our long night commitments.
I will ennoble thee
With the sweetest of incense
Where we shall make vigil
On a daily basis.
I will be the miracle worker
And you, the singer of sweet hymns
Whereon, angels of lofty plumes
Shall descend
Approving of our consensual worship.
