I might be looking at this in an odd way but masterful use of the image. The anime " Garden of Words " I feel personifies such lines as "There was no one I could be compatible with
That was my age, that would stop my breath" and your lines about the realization you made that you didn't need anyone to complete you ( something I think was brought home during the last scene of the film, personally ). I use images that suit, Garden of Words was a very good example of how I was feeling, I had come to a stage were I just sat alone at a bench to think and The age difference also had me thinking. I'm glad you noticed :)
