We lost our words
in the silence of our song.

Lost faith in sanctuaries
that were so wrong.

We settle for lesser evils,
leading us away and astray.

Forgetting the lines
that we read along the way.

When we forget,
we erase unwanted times.

There comes a time
when we remember the lines.

Flashback triggered
by some circumstantial recall.

The ghosts rise within
and wail in their somber call.
