The Epitaph Of Lucy : A Short Poem

Bodily armour, shape shifter
My love, my all, baby sitter
Drunk that night, no worry
Woke up not to see my Lucy.

Love so strong, dad's girl
Master of her class, never fear
Neither knew the devil lurk near
Abused and maimed my girl.

The name sticked, my Lucy
All eyes on her, a poor community
Left for school never to be seen
Oh my Lucy, trafficked to the sea.

Lying helplessly in bed
Death on her has stare
Hope gone, cancer eats her chest
Watched as my Lucy laid to rest.

Am dedicating this poem to everyone who has lost a girl, either through sickness or any mishap.
