Liberty cracked the bell
peals appealing to silver peddlers
propping poems on the sill
propping a canary to fetters
feathers litter the ground
inside the golden cage,
children crowd around
children fade away.
decay, the meal on the table
the body exhausts the kindling,
a thin wick to burn the air,
wax hair to burn everything.
capitalism is the new voodoo

Fabulously constructed and conceived, carmalain.
Hmmm i personal like this

I love this
Well, @carmalain, I confess that I am a little lost with the meaning of your poem, beautifully constructed. For me it is a challenge, but I think it speaks of something related to street vending. Cultural distance distances me from interpretation, perhaps. But It also seduces me.
