It's been a habit of mine to write a poem when someone I love passes away. This piece is dedicated to my grandfather, who died after a long illness on February 29, 2008.
When shadows dawn upon the world,
And colors start to fade,
Love still remains in the heart.
When heavy rain pours,
And thunder rumbles,
Eyes can still see.
May you find the light,
The guide to your inner steps.
Love never dies,
So do not fret, and depart.
Vanished though you are,
Your memory still endures.
Your soul needs repose.
Now, shadows are upon us
And colors are fading, but
We know we will see you again.
