Changemist

Billowing majesty,
Thou blanket of myrrh & mint.
Otherworldly medicine.

Cloudwaves heavy
With the promise
Of safety.

Aftershock of
epiphanic sync,
Air thick with
Destiny's kiss.

Dense memories of
Consequence, the
Perpetual snowglobe.

Soft windtouch that
Beckons the eyes
To shine.

Joy mingled sadness

Tender profundity

Drenching overwhelm

Transformation
Inward-curling of the
Silver dawn, calm lucidity of
Aqua like an angelic hawk
Perched on the precipice.

@d-pend how do you do it mannn, I can't write poetry to save my life... That's not entirely true, but 1) I'd have to be extremely immersed in my topic and 2) It'd probably turn out goofy

It's just a matter of doing it which is probably a boring answer but probably also the same thing you'd tell me if I said I'm awful at drawing (correct me if I'm wrong.) I don't have any training in poetry I just decided I wanted to try writing it around 6 years ago, and I felt really goofy a lot of the time and thought what I was writing was amateurish and lame. I still don't feel pro by any means but it's not about that anymore for me, it's about the feeling that writing poetry gives me. If it's good or bad I don't know and don't care, but I think devoting myself to trying my best is making me a better human being, in some abstruse manner.

P.S. you may be right that choosing a firm topic could help, I think it depends on the person. For me, sometimes I have solid themes chosen and the piece usually ends up a little more concrete/ easier to understand. Much of the time it's pretty vague and improvisatory, though, and the theme of the piece emerges as I'm writing. It's kind of a meditative exercise for me.

P.P.S. Damn I didn't mean to write an essay as a response lol, cheers

I liked it. I always like the thought of transformation whether good or bad. It gives me hope that change is coming with something new. Loved you poem and pictures! :D
