Unforgettable
Avoids me, sweet release—
with smooth, unserrated teeth.
By choice, by fog-drawn smile,
I drown in eyes unwide.
My tactile fortress, love:
aloof with gems inset.
To feel the stirring of fall,
with summer's failing lull
is pain unclasped, but lush,
as rain erodes the slopes
of places I've forgot—
but which, my heart has not.

These "unforgettable" images of what brings back memory every time the season changes for an extremely sensitive being, shows that each of the seasons has its charm, but the autumn highlights nostalgia. What I had and what I did not, the beautiful and the ugly, what falls and what rises, the eternal opposites. That means we are looking for a handle, a justification for the fall, for so many memories together. Autumn has the peculiarity of blowing that memory that flows through the excited senses. Then, smells and colors become protagonists of the novel of life, treasures that we hide in our memory.
Indeed, there is a particular vividness of Autumn, greater than just the physical vibrance of the changing leaves, something energetic that awakens stirrings from the past. I always seem to go a little insane in the summer, and come back to my senses somehow in the Fall, haha!

I love the pictures you choose. Somehow I feel like I'm reading Songs of Solomon with the lovers being opposites. Fall may come with a bite but I am welcome to accept this season with open arms.
Those places you've "forgot" come back with all the smells and colors of a change in season. And we've new memories to make.

Hey @mineopoly that's interesting it made you think of Songs of Solomon! And I quite agree that this time of year brings back many memories of bygone years. I am 27 - I can only imagine how it might be to remember twice as many years past. Though, I think the teenage years will always be particularly powerful in anyone's memory, even if they fade and curl with the years like a yellowed tome.
It was the "unserrated teeth" that sounded like a description Solomon might have used:
In 8th grade I remember going to a haunted house in October. It was cold and snowy outside and the girl I liked had no money for a ticket. I bought her a ticket and she gave me the biggest hug and kiss so it was hard to forget even when we met again years after. The moment not forgotten yet not rekindled.
