RE: POP MUSIC HAIKU: "These Girls" (Why Don't We)

in #poetry7 years ago

Thanks @daledude22 :) No, I wish I had the ability to express myself visually...something I've never attempted to cultivate sadly. I wouldn't actually advise watching this crap for more than a few seconds at a time...surely you burnt up a bundle of brain cells going 60 long.

Music is a great way to bond! That's pretty cool that you and your 18 year old are able to align tastes (I know 18 was a transitional time in my music-listening past and I def made some poor choices ...which sort of sucks nowadays because I have fond/nostalgic memories that include some proper shyte songs). My son is only 6 but I'm starting to dig in now with music, expose him to as much as possible so that he can suss out what bangs his eardrums just right. Which is perhaps why the type of "music" this post laments on is so utterly frustrating....the music is so stripped down to a generic/materialistic nothingness that human expression seems almost to be a liability because you don't want to offend/ruffle feathers/etc...the profit motive born of a desire to get mass appeal is certainly a big yawn from the creativity perspective, at least we can point and laugh.

Good luck curating some more tunes for you and your son to enjoy :)
