Three Lines (Original Poem)

in #poetry8 years ago (edited)

Three lines exist

I grapple between them

Short on cash

The rope wanes thin

Like a seasoned trapeze artist

Heel presses on the past

And toe steadies the present

Don’t give up

All will work together for your good

Close to exhaustion

Infant cries and dog barks

Weigh heavy towards the darkness

A trial overcome tightens the line

And hope peels from the future

Firmly poised on the now

Toe dipped in the past

Head is fixed on the horizon

Really enjoyed the 3rd stanza keep up the work :D

thank you, I appreciate the encouragement :)

I like this juxtaposition of images-
Infant cries and dog barks

These images are reality to me with young children and noisy dogs - LOL
