Sometimes relationships don't work out. It may be our own selfishness, carelessness or circumstances beyond our control. But our time with others is precious and a gift. We help to mold each other.
It is a sad story. But more sad is when others prevent us from having those relationships. It may be an overprotective mother, jealous friend. It may be a summer romance or a heart-wrenching divorce. The pain lives while hearts die. But what if it is your own government preventing you from having a relationship with your child. The CPS is vigilant to place profit over people and money over moms. Criminal intentional breakups on parents and families are caused by our own apathy and ignorance and is our responsibility to protect the helpless and hurting.
Perhaps a family poem will be born out of these rhymes, but for now I submit a first hand inspired poem of a relationship I have been in. Enjoy!
We Should Have Been
To frolic in laughter and blur out the grey
We should have been sharing our time,
But we debate. Such a sad crime.
We should have shared a dinner for two
For life is short and our days but few.
How precious are the moments we share,
In time with you. Oh none can compare.
We should have been together today.
We should have tried and found a way.
i would have stayed and held you all night.
Oh how I prayed, you would invite.
To hold you close, ambition is still
I will be there... if only you will.
We should have been together today
Two hearts that love should find the way.
OH BRAVO!
