you felt it, a split second
of immortality.
you understood
the power you held
inside of you,
it was then
your eyes opened,
it was then
that you vowed
to never be lied to
or lulled to sleep again,

I think this poem forestalls realisation into something really huge, it seems like he person I mean the poet persona was living in ignorance and at the end became aware like a scale was lifted off their eyes. Beautiful poem here Eric I love the climactic at the second stanza
