GET LOST (An Original Poem)

in #poetry8 years ago (edited)

Lost is the best
place to start
it's quick with a
charming smile
and a laugh,
its eyes dance
and they glisten
in the subtlest of ways

lost hints at
some wise words
begging to be born
into this unrefined
world's dappled shade,

the lost speak words
born screaming
into certain shadows,
haunted by the memory
that a world
much finer exists
just beyond our own

like the lure of
some sweet kiss
only the lost
can be drawn
to this place of magic
where the frost
of frozen yearnings
are sure to thaw
like morning dew

lost is a place where
people dream only love,
and long for more than
short term relevance,
they wish to live
a nuanced and connected life

beloved, do not doubt
it is there just beyond
the confines of your senses
walk straight towards
the blinding radiance,
your heart
already knows
the direction

your Shangri-La,
you will surely find
but first you must
tame your monkey mind
and get lost.

My favorite so far, excellent work! Thank you and namaste :)

So glad you enjoyed it, @eric-boucher! This one literally came to me at once. I had to tap it out on my phone before I "lost" it. 🙏🏼

I hear you, such poetry is channelled and usually comes through so quickly, just to slow it down is a major feat of meditation in itself. I can hardly believe you had to type it on your phone. Wow! Namaste :)

Красиво

Спасибо!

Sigh! Yes - you have to be completely lost before you can be found. Great one, Eric.

Thanks @fairytalelife! I've been there a few times in my life. It's great to see you back here, my friend!

allowing yourself to let go, to eschew quatrains and surrender to a Xanadu just beyond your reckoning...so nice. ( I don't like brown paper packages tied up in strings) Judging by the responses, others liked it too :)

Thank you very much!
