Most times we close our eyes not even sure of where our minds will stray to when we fall asleep, we wake up each day with no knowledge of how the day will be but then we keep on believing things are this way or meant to be this way. The funny thing is that life itself is funny and so uncertain.
The poem is birthed out of my thoughts about life and its mysteries
WHAT IF
What if we've been chasing life in all the wrong places
Seeking bricks of solace to mould our heart's spaces
What if the trees are birds
Singing songs we've not heard
What if we possess the cure but ignorantly toil through bushes for answer
While our problems slowly eat us up like a terrible cancer
What if the sky is just a heavy dark fog
Smooching the earth in a tight sweet hug
What if the huge mountain and the deepest pit in our minds we've always felt
Is a shadow of a frame of ice our tiny hands can melt
What if all our treasures and glories are just a dream we'll wake up from
And the glaring world we envisioned is an empty space with no form
What if the sun isn't shiny and hot
But a dark round frame that's little and soft
What if we actually don't dream
But sojourns on a land with a light that's dim
What if the ocean and the sea
Are tears of a being we can't see
What if there exist no light
But a gleam of our sight
What if you are not you
And the truth isn't just true
What if..

I gotta say, that was deep, really deep. You've got talent @estherikott. Wonderful poem!! Next time, try and properly separate it into stanzas and verses though, try arranging it in quatrains. None the less, the poem is quite something.
Okay, thanks a lot for the correction
I'm glad you read it @francistagbo
Nice peom..
So captivating
Thanks a lot
I'm glad you read it @ubiteo
Hmm what if the seas and oceans are the tears of a being we can't see...
Just an imagination anyway
What if we are not even humans? What if the past changes from time to time together with our memories? Do strange experiences that we experience, such as deja vu or strange dreams, attest to glitches in the matrix? The possibilities are endless.
And why bother with such ideas at all? To undermine our comfortable and naive bubble of certainty, and to remind us that in the end, we can not be sure of anything. It may be convenient for us at the practical level to adopt certain assumptions about reality, but there is no guarantee that they are true. And if nothing is certain, then everything is possible, and a reality in which everything is possible is a reality that is more interesting to live in ...
Nice
Most times we just let our thoughts go wild and create different imaginary scenes but reality itself is questionable
Thanks for reading @nirgf
This poem definitely makes me reconsider some of my complaints and perspectives. "What if" is absolutely correct. Upvoting, resteeming, and following.
You know some things about reality is quite questionable, it leaves you wondering if they are really real
Thanks for dropping by to read it @sumayyahsaidso
My pleasure!
@godwine wrote a poem titled IF (you could visit his blog to view it) anf this piece has striking akiness to it...like two people writing the same poems at same times but in very very distant places...
This coincidence is purely outstanding.
Beautifully deep poetry there...
Oh my father lord blood of Zechariah!
Wait, don't you think we're...connected?
I'll be back. Lemme go get a link (you need to see this)
