A new intro poem for Writers' Block Radio!

in #poetry7 years ago

We needed a new intro poem for Writers' Block radio.... one that highlights our new home plus all our new rooms and features! This will voice over a fun new song we'll unveil tomorrow that captures the feel of Writers' Block, and this new poem had to follow the song's cadence. So I put this one together and sought feedback in our very own poetry workshop. And here's the finished product! Tune in tomorrow at 10 UTC to catch its premier on Writers' Block radio!

you've found The Writers' Block
new worlds, we all concoct

where fiction has a page
and playwrights have a stage

where poetry's allowed
non-fiction draws a crowd

and even devs can check
their articles on tech

is English not your first?
we help fix grammar's worst

and every week or so
we host a chit-chat show

with guests and topics, too
informing scribes like you

what's optional? the pants.
but manners? not a chance!

Sort:

"what's optional? the pants.
but manners? not a chance!"

This is starting to remind me of the finer things club:

even there tobys unhappy

Love it!!!! :-)

The writer and painter say create. The page and canvas say resist.

boy howdy

I tried to poet a single frame cartoon I saw as a kid. This seems to work for all the arts. :)

Good Job @geke I love it.

Love this!

My favorite developer based literature were the famous haiku error messages.

This is a good intro poem. You should put it on an about page. :)
