Enigma

I saw a young boy smiling in the dark
But his eyes were crying, as bright as a spark
I can tell he's been through a lot
He's sad, lonely, compunctious and distraught

He's crestfallen of the aftereffect of his action,
while a gnawing distress is in motion.
This anxiety arising from awareness of guilt,
he's remorseful for the things he spilt.

A hundred battle of taunting
A depressing gesture is haunting
He's lying on the ground helpless and weak
Wondering if he could still reach that peak

He's hoping it's not too late
To make this surprising turn of fate.
Problems are dragging him down
He's trying hard not to get drown.

I felt sorry for the boy
He's in misery but he's showing joy
I'd like to hug him so tight
To let him feel that everything will be alright.

As I came closer and closer
I noticed a necklace with a small anchor
Then I looked at his face
As I was about to embrace.

I suddenly stopped, feeling confused
Flabbergasted at the same time amused
I never thought I knew this boy
I am positive that he is not a decoy

He's right there standing in front of me
Without second thought, I told him bravely
"There is nothing you can't cope,
There is still hope!"

The young boy was me
I was the young boy
In melacholy and Glee
Sorrow or joy

To give up is not an option
To rise up that's a solution!
