The seed that takes,
Is the seed that makes,
The first sprout,
The beginning of ...Absolute Arboreal Domination.
An army growing, a new empire rising.
One by one towards the sun,
They slowly overcome...
EVERYTHING in their way as they dominate the Earth.
The tree that does not bend will break.
Yet the tree that does not stand straight...
Will never reach the glorious sun.
They grow towards the Solar epiphany, and the coming dawn.
Against each other, they compete,
Growing tall to reach the light they eat.
But when the storms come and the leaves shake,
Together they cause the harsh wind to break.
Yet onward to the sun they march, a slow stampede.
To stand the test of time, comes another round of courageous seeds.
And at their greatest height, it's time to release!
To a tree, it's war, but as I lie in their shadow, a calming peace.
I like the idea of trees and plants eating light. I feel like robots also eat light, like the roving ones on Mars right now, and the ones orbiting in space as satellites. Lots of free food for trees and machines alike!
Thanks for sharing your poem and pic! :)
