Memories of you are more painful to recall,
The times we shared, things we did and all.
I miss the way your face lit up,
Whenever you saw me.
Another chance to catch up,
Will be more than enough for me.
I pray each night,
That as I fall asleep, angels take flight,
To protect your from harm,
And keep you safe and alright.
Until you are back home with me, your mom.
You had to go, I understand.
It is your duty,
But I know woes
Can bring an untimely end.
There are miles between us,
There are days between us,
But you're not forgotten by distance,
And you're not forgotten by time.
