I don't know how you would ever see this
But that doesn't really matter at this point
Because when I think of all that you have done for me
I never would want to disappoint
You, because you gave me freedom in expression
And safety in my confessions.
You never yelled, you never hit,
You led by example and that was it.
You were both parent figures
Because dad didn't care.
You threw the ball around with me
Even though every time it was coming at you
You were scared.
You were there through it all
Through my heartbreaks and defeats
But also held me up
Like your love is on repeat.
Basically I just wanted to say I love you and thank you for putting up with me for 23 years <3 I did a digital painting of us on the day I graduated college.
