― Coco Chanel
In love—
I our choosing.
I chose spring
With its rains of absolution;
I chose you.
I chose suffering
As my Minotaur
And Muse.
And there will come a point
When we’ve gone too far…
But we've already
Come too far, My Life,
To turn back now.
Your lips speak
Wordless mysteries;
Your eyes voice silent truths;
Our lives opaque—
Windows black, blinds drawn—
Afraid of what might escape.
But wherever we go
We’ll end up
Back in Toronto—
Walk dark sidewalks
Beneath the green haze
Of Maples
Inhale the lemon scent of spring…
Because only I
Understand the sadness
Of your dark eyes.
I may have lost the thread
And became trapped
In the labyrinth of my own emotions
And veered off course—
I often miss the mark,
It’s regrettable
Yet I never go too far
Because you alone are unforgettable;
And I bear the scars.
you're a wondurful mystery 👏👏
