is like a violin?
in the loneliness
of the autumn silence,
When icy rain
ticks against the window pane
and leaves rustle
in the darkness.
When the moon
falls behind
the turning night
I miss you,
in the quietness
of my parents' creaking house;
I see your face
in the potted geraniums;
my arms ache for you
as only arms remember...
You fit right beneath my shoulder
like my old guitar.

The poem makes me think of a blink 182 song for some reason

Beautiful poem. How long have you been writing poetry?
thanks, @cyncarlton - since I was seventeen ...only a few years :)
I love your work. Have got a bit behind with reading and scrolling through now looking for all yours and @tinajordan just for good read time :) sooooo minimal yet so atmospheric good work
thanks, @girlwithoutwings - I agree with you about @tinajordan and her poetry. She's exceptional. I love reading her stuff. Thanks again for the thoughtful responses

I love this poem. :) It's cute and simple yet easily captures the heart. I love it. :)
thanks, @littlerph. Micro poetry proves a thing can be pleasing despite its dimensions :)
Yeah. Indeed. :) I truly agree with that. Regardless the feature or element of something, it still would be beautiful. ^^ I would love to read more of your poems @johnjgeddes. I like the way you make your poems simple and yet extremely beautiful. :))
Here's the secret - try to write mainly in anglo-saxon words that are concrete and made up mostly of one or two syllables :)
I would absolutely try that. ^^ I'll make a poem based as to what I have learned from you today. ^^ I'm sure it'll help me improve. Thanks for sharing me that. :) Thank you for the lesson! I truly appreciate it. :))
you're very welcome, @littlerph
😊😊😊
@johnjgeddes This is supercool! Thanks!
thanks
This is absolutely beautiful
thank you, @zoocatty!
I like "as only arms remember..." You are great working on this one!
thank you, @iwrite - writing stand alone lines is difficult even for well-known writers. I don't think Nicholas Sparks has ever penned one memorable line, so that is something I work on, for sure!
