We forgot how to love (A Poem)

Young and vibrant we were..
Never minding the agony or the tear..
Never reeking in the moments of fear..
But gave all wholesomely with affections and care..

We forgot how to love..
Because our midnight sensless romance..
Became tears in a trance..
Our heart to heart assurance..
Lost all its confidence..
Our beautiful moments lost all its chance..

We forgot how to love..
forgot how our complications would solve..
Forgot how our words made our stomach tug..
Forgot how our fairytale made cupid stupid..
Forgot how our love story made the world turgid..

We forgot how to love..
let distance..
control our stance..
Let disbelieve get hold of our chance..

We forgot how to love..
So our love letters..
No longer matters..
Our love matters..
Now seem like chain and fetters..

We forgot how to love..
So we now have weaknesses...
And heartbreak for witnesses..
We now have sicknesses..
Because trust is no longer the Genesis

    Sad. It's interesting how something can start out great and promising and end up being a regret. Nicely expressed through this poem. Relationships sometimes start off with fairytale romance and later stoop to constant arguments until it finally spirals down to a break up.

        "Trust is no longer the genesis" I love that line. Good work. Yes, it does seem majority of the young populace forgot how to love.
