Every time I read her poems I am left with a clear mind and the desire to better myself and those around me.
It can be hard for some of us to find our true selves when we are in some way being tuned to follow the lives of others. Glorifying things that have no meaning or value.
Ellen Bailey speaks on the beauty of being yourself and the energy you could possibly give to others.

Be Yourself
Why would you want to be someone else
When you could be better by being yourself
Why pretend to be someone you are not
When you have something they haven't got
Cheating yourself of the life you have to live
Deprives others of that only which you can give
You have much more to offer by being just you
Than walking around in someone else's shoes
Trying to live the life of another is a mistake
It is a masquerade; nothing more than a fake
Be yourself and let your qualities show through
Others will love you more for being just you
Remember that God loves you just as you are
To Him you are already a bright shining star
Family and friends will love you more too

This poem making me realize that we are pretending,acting to be someone else.We took our life for acting like that,we never can't do what we wanna do,what we wanna tell,what we wanna listen,what we wanna dream about we always pretend.But if we can take the best out of us that can also produce something great.So just be your self it will make you happy,when you are happy you can make others happy.
The beauty of authenticity. Everyone is great the way he is. We sabbotage our greatness by being fake.

We all have our own race to run, we all have our own dreams and heart desires that God put them inside of us so we can fulfill them and live them.

A nice reminder that we are so often wearing "masks" of one sort of another... even if we believe we are not.
Of course, living as truthfully ourselves also comes with the attendant "risk" that when someone doesn't think we're "all that" it's our TRUE self they are rejecting (and that can sting) not just a mask we didn't care so much about.
I suspect that's one of the reasons people often hide behind carefully crafted facades.

Society forces us to fit into these boxes. And we capitulate to pay our bills, buy food and take care of our own. In all of this, the self is ignored, sometimes lost. Wonderful words.
