Starry, Starry Night (free verse) -Steemit School Poetry 100 Day Challenge - Day 15, Poem 13

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

Hi, folks.

I’m back on Day 15 for my 13th Entry to the Steemit School Poetry 100-Day Challenge.
Today I've wanted to write some verses to an artist whose paintings have always caused me mixed feelings of tenderness and melancholy. I made up my mind today as I listened to Don McLean’s “Vincent.”

I'll be glad should you be able to read and comment it.

(Al final, su traducción al español.)

Best of lucks to all contestants.

Starry, Starry Night

Source

                                        Blossoming flares coyly blush
                                                                     on the canvas,
                                        recoiling at the silvering light
                                                                     where dreams blacken,
                                        as maddening strokes burst
                                                                     among sky flowers.

                                        The panting creature grabs hold
                                                                     of the wandering hand;
and dabs dark paint of insanity
                                                                     over the hazing violet,
as snowy hues and amber whacks
                                        revolve around the whirling lights.

                                        —Your starry, starry night
lives on in the saddest song
                                        intoned by the voice
                                        of the brightly blazing,
                                                                     flaming flowers,
                                                                     over your shady hills.

As beautiful a the painter's masterpiece itself.

Thanks, @sansoncarrasco. Tell you one thing, this is probably my favorite painting in the world. Could't tell.

Hermoso poema y originales imágenes.
Saludos, @marlyncabrera

Sorry, i am unable to replicate the mark down.
I like what you did here. The personification :) , blossoming flares blushing and recoiling.

<3

If only the painter could reads this :)

I'm so glad you've noticed it, and more, that you've liked it, @fego ♥ Makes me ant to continue; I think I can make it to Day 100; whatever will become of me thereafter XD
