RE: Poem: The Tree

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

Wow, dude, this is amazing. And I'm glad to took time to lift the burden of your chest. What is written is either an extension or expression of the soul, and I think that's why, your poem connects well with me, and I'm sure with others too.

Despair not, for impermanence is the nature of life,
But such is its nature, that some of choose to strive,
To be better, to be proud, to be just, to be kind,
To let go of ill-will, to strengthen the mind.

I know you find your way, heck, you probably know where it is,
And you know even in the first few steps, you will find bliss,
Truth be told, sometimes, lonely will be your walk,
Tougher it will be, when you reach a fork.

In those times of uncertainly, retrace your steps,
You've gone through a lot, that you must accept,
And in a distance, if you strain your eyes to see,
A symbol of good, faith and just, you will see that tree.

Haven't written poetry for a while, mainly coz rhyming can be a bitch, but I'll never settle for one that isn't.

Chin up, chief. Tree's watching over.

Awesome reply, in poetry too @maverickfoo! Oh my, your inspiring poetry is also applicable to me. :p

Man, you also super God-given-multi-talented too! May you and William be blessed abundantly in all ways and for always. Amen!

Sadly, I'm a melancholic writer, and some of my best pieces usually leave me emotionally drained. Gift and a curse?

Wow, your poem is great! Beautiful stuff. Very strong. You have a lot of control over the language. Yeah, poetry is an extension of the soul and it is a great way to know a person. Thanks for that lovely poem!
