i’m not the person you think i am i have a heart that continues to warm itself for others who cause it to shatter into a million pieces
i tend to shield those who don’t need it most and allow myself to be hit with stones but the hurt already planted beneath my soul refuses to let me feel these token bones
and as i continue trying to cover up with layers of self love i become trapped even further causin me to lose all hope and provide love i couldn’t provide for myself
